My wife, Carrie, teaches at Schoharie High. I've been down a number of times helping her and other members of the Schoharie Teachers Association muck out houses.
Most recently, my Galway TA colleagues Jared Marcantonio, Luke Snow, and I, took 16 Galway students to work with the Schoharie TA and their STAY program providing insulation for the folks of Schoharie. It was a great learning experience for the kids and very rewarding for them to give something to this community. We insulated the entire area that was dry enough at Harva, a major business in the village. The next day, I went back and helped out at individual homes.
STAY is a great program from a great association. Hats off to all who have given so much of their time and money to this and many other flood effected communities. It truly is an example of "what we do."
