From hate crime comes healing: NYSUT poster honors black history

Source: NYSUT United

black history monthNYSUT honors Black History Month with a free poster commemorating the nine parishioners who lost their lives in the June 2015 shooting at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, S.C. Intended to incite a race war, the tragedy instead inspired a national discussion about race, leading to the removal of the Confederate battle flag from the South Carolina Capitol, and the removal of other symbols of the Confederacy in many Southern cities and states.
