New York State Teachers' Retirement System delegates elected Jolene DiBrango, a teacher from the Pittsford Central School District near Rochester, to the state Teachers' Retirement System Board in November.
DiBrango, president of the 800-member Pittsford District Teachers Association since 2011, is a NYSUT Leadership Institute graduate and vice president and past secretary of the Monroe County Federation of Teachers. A longtime NYSUT RA delegate, DiBrango is also a member of the Coalition of Labor Union Women.
Paul Farfaglia, a teacher from Jordan-Elbridge School District in central New York and vice president of the Jordan-Elbridge TA, was re-elected to the board. The other teacher-member on the board is Tim Southerton, a Long Island special education teacher and president of the Sayville TA. David Keefe, a retired member of the Hempstead Classroom TA, is the board's retiree representative.
