Dolores E. Marino
Dolores E. Marino, 80, of Niagara Falls, a respected union leader and advocate for libraries and schools, died Aug. 31.
Marino served in various leadership roles with the Niagara Falls Teachers, Niagara Falls Teachers Retirees' Association, NYSUT Retiree Council 3 and the Coalition of NYSUT Retirees of WNY. She also served as president of Niagara Falls Library Board of Trustees.
Before her retirement, she worked as a teacher and resource director for the Niagara Falls Board of Education. As a dedicated volunteer on behalf of the Niagara Falls Public Library, Marino was instrumental in generating more than a half million dollars for libraries in Buffalo.
She is survived by six siblings, as well as many aunts, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. Memorial offerings may be made to the Earl W. Brydges Library, 1425 Main Street, Niagara Falls, NY 14305.
Thelma Juanita Fox | June 19

Thelma Juanita Fox died on June 19 at the age of 78.
She was born in Harlem in 1935 and lived in New York her entire life. Thelma worked in public schools in Manhattan and in the Bronx and for the Board of Education for many years. She retired at the age of 72 from MS 80 in the Bronx where she taught science.
Thelma was an active union member in the United Federation of Teachers. She loved Manhattan and enjoyed much of what the city had to offer including plays and shopping. Thelma leaves behind one daughter, two sisters, nieces, nephews and cousins.
