Gloria Steinem, leader of feminist movement NYSUT recognizes Women's History Month in March with a free poster celebrating the life and contributions of Gloria Marie Steinem, an American feminist, journalist and social and political activist who was a forceful leader of the Women’s Liberation Movement in the late 1960s and '70s.

A writer, editor and political figure, Steinem has worked tirelessly to champion women's rights and raise awareness about women’s issues. In 1972, she co-founded Ms., the pioneering feminist magazine, and remained its editor for 15 years. She also helped create the Coalition of Labor Union Women in 1974.
She was inducted into the National Women’s Hall of Fame in Seneca Falls in 1993.
