SED seeks volunteers for videos
The State Education Department is launching a Video Library Project that will feature hundreds of videos showing how educators from around the state incorporate Common Core Learning Standards into their classroom practice.
Eventually, the project posted under "Video Library" at http://www.engageny.org/ will tag videos according to grade level, subject areas, specific state standards, instructional shifts, teacher evaluation rubric indicators and others.
Video participants can be teachers, coaches, principals and teacher/principal evaluators. Volunteers chosen will work with an experienced video production company. Videos will range in length from 5-minute clips to lessons up to 40 minutes.
There is no monetary compensation for participation.
If you are interested, send a 90-120 second clip of yourself or a colleague to video project manager Joyce Macek, a fellow on the Regents Research Fund team, at video@mail.nysed.gov from your smartphone or computer for review and selection.
Sample videos WILL NOT be displayed publicly. Include in the body of the email: your name and position, name of practitioner in video, school, district, (grade level and subject), along with a 3-5 sentence description of the video.
SED said the video team will contact interested educators within two weeks and communicate next steps. Due to resource restraints, it is possible some interested educators will not be selected for filming this year.
