NYSUT members across New York have long supported the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer by raising more than $8.3 million over the last 10 years — more than any corporate sponsor, such as Walmart.
NYSUT Vice President Maria Neira applauded that effort and asked for more. "As women's health care rights are under attack constantly from the far right and even within some other advocacy groups, it's even more important this year for NYSUT members to strengthen their support of ACS and its efforts on health care for both men and women," Neira said.
