Stacey Garrison, a teaching assistant and member of the Pine Bush SRP Association, was one of 22 individuals or agencies to receive a 2011 Recognition Award for her work from the state STOP-DWI Foundation and Mothers Against Drunk Driving.

Serena Nanda and Joan Gregg, Professional Staff Congress Retirees Chapter, recently published their second anthropological mystery novel, Assisted Dying: An Ethnographic Murder Mystery on Florida's Gold Coast. The novel's central plot, involving the unexplained deaths of elderly people in South Florida, examines American cultural values related to aging, retirement and ethnic diversity in the context of the American Dream.
