Make a connection

The School Library Journal offers a free, monthly e-newsletter for teachers and librarians. Curriculum Connections features a variety of articles on recent books and multimedia resources for K-12 students. Also featured are thematic articles on topics ranging from ancient Egypt and poetry to Black History Month and technology in the classroom. Buggy for Braille

The American Foundation for the Blind (AFB) offers a free Braille alphabet card at www.afb.org/braillebug/Braille.asp. The organization created the Braille Bug® website to teach sighted children about Braille, and to encourage literacy among all children. The site offers several resources educators can use in their classrooms, including games and other activities.

The American Chemical Society offers several resources for science teachers from preschool to high school, including information on how to build a kit on Chemistry: Investigating your World.
