The NYSUT calling center, Benchmark Polling, has provided critical help to its American Federation of Teachers sisters and brothers in Wisconsin as they prepare for the July 12 recall elections of nine state senators who backed a controversial union-busting law.
The law, which will sharply curb collective bargaining rights for public employees, was recently upheld by the Wisconsin Supreme Court, overturning a lower court decision that ordered a permanent injunction.
Wisconsin unionists remain undaunted and continue to get out the vote. NYSUT has come to their aid with calls to 22,162 unionists urging them to vote, attend rallies and unite in solidarity.
