Wikipedia co-founder Larry Sanger has developed a new Web site for classrooms that was created in consultation with teachers, professors and educational experts. The site, WatchKnow.org, contains a directory of more than 10,000 free videos on the Internet for students ages 3 to 18.

Cogito.org, a Web site produced by Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth, has been honored as one of the highest quality Web sites aimed at children and young adults.
Through Cogito's online interviews and forums, kids gather to talk with each other about black holes, extrasolar planets, epigenetics and oceanography. Membership is free; students join by invitation or nomination by educators.
