GUIDELINES
Visual and Performing Arts Virtual Arts Showcase – Sunday, June 5, 2022, 2:00 P.M. – 4:30 P.M.
Submitting Student Work:
- Work must be uploaded to the following entry form link: nysut.cc/virtualarts2022
- All work must include a title and brief description – maximum of 100 words (can take the form of prose, a poem, a rap). The descriptions may include the inspiration for the work or something the student would like to share about their work.
- Student(s) name, grade, Title, school name, city, teacher e-mail & phone must be indicated on the entry form.
- Work may be individual or small groups
- Appropriate language is expected.
- All submitted works and statements may be used for publication beyond this exhibition, including, and not limited to, articles for publication and exhibition.
Visual Arts – Up to 5 images per teacher, jpg, jpeg, png, only, cropped to image, straight, NO mats.
Performing Arts & Media Arts – Up to 2-minute videos, 10 minutes maximum per teacher.
Videos must be a YouTube or Google Drive Link and must be accessible to view.
Due to copyright laws, video clips in the virtual exhibit may be limited.
Showcase Selection Criteria:

- Clarity of Message
- Craftsmanship

- what you wish you could change in your life, your community, the world?
- what you missed doing and imagine yourself doing now?
- the impact of technology?
- an activity/gesture you imagine yourself doing?
- powers that would make you a hero.
- a memory you can change.
- How can you juxtapose real with unreal in your submission to make it strange or dream-like?
- How does your submission surprise the viewer (audience)?
- How can you transform an object, so its original use is changed?
- How can a familiar sight be made strange by the unexpected?
