ALBANY, N.Y. Jan. 16, 2018 — New York State United Teachers today issued the following reaction to the 2018-19 proposed executive budget:
“As New York faces threats from Washington and a difficult fiscal environment, we are appreciative of the governor’s support for students, educators and working families. We support his goal of building a stronger middle class. As part of that effort, we urge increased funding for SUNY, CUNY, community colleges and public hospitals. We look forward to working with the governor and legislative leaders toward a final state budget that ensures the needs of our schools and vital public institutions are fully met.”
