ALBANY, N.Y. Nov. 10, 2016 — New York State United Teachers today released the following statement on the election of Donald J. Trump as the nation’s 45th president.
“NYSUT is proud to have worked very hard in support of Hillary Clinton and thanks its members for their unprecedented activism. Now is the time for our state and nation to move forward in our great democratic tradition to face the many challenges ahead. In the coming days, NYSUT will be resolute in advancing its social justice agenda; continue to fiercely advocate for its members; and once again be at the vanguard of the fight to protect public education, retirement security, health care, workers’ rights and equality. While the work may be tough, we are up to it.”
