Norwich, N.Y. September 27, 2007 - Richard C. Iannuzzi, president of the 585,000-member New York State United Teachers, will speak in support of area educators Thursday, Sept. 27, at 5:00 p.m. at the DCMO BOCES Chenango Campus Gymnasium in Norwich.
Iannuzzi will address dozens of Delaware-Chenango-Madison-Otsego BOCES teachers, who have been working without a contract since 2005. His visit is part of NYSUT's commitment to quality public schools and their educators across New York.
Many Norwich-area educators will attend. Teachers and school-related professionals in the Norwich schools are also without contracts. Both pacts expired in June. Educators from Oneonta will be present, showing their solidarity with their colleagues.
The DCMO BOCES Chenango Campus Gymnasium is at 6678 County Road 32 in Norwich.
